Professor Penny Pincher Exposes Psychic Who Correctly Predicted Every Lottery Number… After the Draw

By Professor Penny Pincher, Financial Correspondent

For years I have dedicated my professional life to exposing outrageous financial frauds, questionable investments and people who believe money grows on trees.

However, nothing prepared me for my latest investigation into Britain’s self-proclaimed “World’s Greatest Psychic Lottery Predictor,” the remarkable Madam Crystal Ballonia.

Her advertising was certainly impressive.

“I have predicted EVERY winning lottery number for the last 15 years!”

At first glance, this seemed like an extraordinary achievement.

Then I noticed one tiny detail.

She always published her predictions the day after the draw.

Naturally, I booked an appointment.

For only £299.99 (cash preferred), Madam Crystal welcomed me into a room filled with candles, incense and enough crystal balls to open a garden centre.

She immediately demonstrated her astonishing powers.

“I sense…”

She closed her eyes dramatically.

“…that last Saturday’s winning numbers were…”

She slowly opened a newspaper.

“…3, 7, 14, 21, 38 and 49!”

I nearly fell off my chair.

“They certainly were,” I replied.

“I know,” she smiled confidently.

“My gift is exceptionally accurate.”

She proudly showed me a filing cabinet containing thousands of framed lottery predictions stretching back twenty years.

Every single one was correct.

Every.

Single.

One.

The only slight drawback was that each prediction had been written on yesterday’s newspaper.

Undeterred, Madam Crystal unveiled her latest premium service.

For just £999, she promised to reveal next week’s winning numbers.

Unfortunately, due to “cosmic interference,” customers would receive the email next Sunday morning.

“It guarantees 100% accuracy,” she explained.

She even had glowing testimonials.

One read:

“Everything she predicted had already happened exactly as she said it would.”

Another delighted customer wrote:

“I checked yesterday’s football results after reading her predictions and every score was spot on.”

I asked how she developed such astonishing abilities.

“My grandmother was a psychic.”

“My mother was a psychic.”

“And I inherited the family photocopier.”

Business, she admitted, had never been better.

“People love certainty.”

“Especially when it’s about yesterday.”

As I prepared to leave, Madam Crystal grabbed my hand.

“I have one final prediction.”

“Oh?”

“I predict…”

She stared intensely into her crystal ball.

“…that you will be writing an article about me tomorrow.”

I looked at my notebook.

“That’s actually very likely.”

She smiled triumphantly.

“I told you my powers were real.”

Back at the office I reflected on the experience.

As an economist, I remain deeply sceptical about anyone who claims to predict the future.

Unless, of course, they’re predicting what happened last Thursday.

Then their success rate appears to be absolutely outstanding.

Before I left, Madam Crystal handed me her business card.

On the back was written:

“Professor Penny Pincher will award me 10 out of 10.”

I looked at the date.

It had been written…

…tomorrow.
